Welcome to Denali's class page

We are a mixed Year 3 and 4 class with 30 children taught by Mrs Maple and Miss Scott.

We will be adding photos and information to this page.

If you have any questions, please contact Mrs Maple via the school office.

Denali Class Newsletter Autumn 2021

IMPORTANT: Our class has to be nut-free at all times.

Please find attached a copy of the weekly timetable.

Reading: Miss Scott will check Reading Record Books on a Monday afternoon to see how many times the children read to an adult the previous week. We have a mountain display board where photos of the children will be moved up the mountain to recognise the reading that has happened at home. Please aim to hear your child at least 4 times per week. Please write “Finished” in the book when they are ready for a new book.

Homework: Homework will be set once per week (usually on a Monday). Each child has a Homework Book. I will also post the homework on Google Classroom. Please make sure that your child still has their Google Classroom login details.

PE: This is taught in year groups on Tuesdays with Miss Harrison and as a class on Fridays with Mrs Maple. The children can come into school in their kit on these days. Please make sure that they have daps/ trainers in school every day for Wake and Shake.

Snacks: In KS2 there are no free fruit snacks, so you can provide a snack for playtime should you wish. This should be a piece of fruit or a plain biscuit.

Lost property: Please label all items brought into school with your child’s name. Un-named items may not be returned to you.

Gardening: We will be starting Gardening groups in Week 3. Children will be in groups of 5 which means they should get the opportunity to do a gardening session every 6 weeks or so.

School website: We will have a class page on the school website where I will post important information. If I have an important message for you, I will try to send it out via the weekly newsletter and I hope to put up a “noticeboard” on our web page which I will refresh by Monday mornings.

If you have any questions, please leave a message with the school office and it will be passed on to me.

A special note for Year 4

It is really important that Year 4 know their times tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of Year 4.

In June they will be taking the Year 4 Multiplication Check which is taken by all Year 4's across the country.

They can practise at home using the following websites:
