Our rural school is at one end of the small village of Ash, near Martock.  About six miles N.W. of Yeovil, one mile from the A303.

Most of the building is about sixteen years old with the offices and staff room in a converted barn dating back to the 1830s.  There are extensive grounds including two playgrounds, a field with a football pitch etc., gardens, a pond, forest school area and access to the Millenium Woods next door.  There are extensive and beautiful views from the school.

There are currently 154 children on role aged between 4-11.  There are 5 classes:

  • Class 1 - Mrs Wooldridge - Reception/Y1 (21 + 9 children) (Year 1 are taught separately in the mornings)
  • Class 2 - Mrs Dean / Mrs Divall / Mrs Rodgers - Y1/Y2 (12 + 18 children)
  • Class 3 - Mrs Woods - Y3 (28 children)
  • Class 4 -  Mrs Radford-Hyland / Ms Jones Ulla / Mrs Ellen Jones - Y4/Y5 (24 + 13 children) (There are several times throughout the week when the Years 4 and 5 are taught separately)
  • Class 5 - Mrs Griffin - Y6 (28 children)

We have a very talented group of teachers and a very experienced and able support staff with extra support in all classes.

Car Parking - Bell Inn, Ash

Please read the attached letter here, concerning issues with some parents using the Bell Inn car park during school times/activities.

The area at the front is reserved for their customers’ use only. Unfortunately some parents are not following the rules and this is causing difficulties in running their business, hence they are, understandably, very upset.

Improved Communication

To help improve our communication with parents we now have a Facebook page. It will provide the opportunity for us to post information which is also on the website and to inform you more easily if there are changes to events. We will continue to send text messages as needed concerning cancelled events. The page is available : here.
