Spring Term
A fantastic start to term has been experienced by all. Motivated and curious learners, who simply relish a challenge, fill the Venus classroom with joy.
The beginning of this term will see us exploring a wonderful selection of literature, including Michael Morpurgo's Farm Boy, MG Leonard's Beetle Boy and Roger Hargreave's classic Mr Men tales.

Decimalisation, multiplication and division start our term in Maths, as we carefully consider our Place Value understanding and use of the decimal point. Remember, when we multiply by 10, 100 or 1000, the digits do not change but their Place Value alters, in line with the number of zeros. We will also be investigating multiplying an integer by a unit and a non-unit fraction, as well as multiplying an integer by a mixed number fraction. Maybe you can explain this terminology to someone at home and teach them how to achieve this?

Resistance will be causing friction throughout our Science topic and the world is our oyster, as we explore a variety of climates throughout the Northern and Southern hemispheres; particularly focusing upon 'Frozen Kingdoms'.

Luckily, every Monday morning before break, we will be having expert PE coaching from our marvellous TLE coaches. This term we are looking at Dance and Multi-skills.

Autumn Term
We are exceptionally excited for tomorrow and the beginning of a new learning journey. Hope you all enjoyed a fantastically adventurous and action packed Summer, filled with sunshine and laughter.

Our writing premise, across the course of the next few weeks, will be guided by the featured book above. We will also explore other fascinatingly imaginative books written and illustrated by the Fan Brothers, including Lizzy and the Cloud.

Creative flair and figurative language will tumble off the page, as we write about or replicate elements of the book above.
We will be absorbed in the following book throughout our class reading this term.

Our maths learning will commence with an investigation into place value, comparing and ordering numbers, that include up to 7 digits! Undoubtedly, there will also be a large degree of delving into calculating, percentages and fractions.

Ancient Greece will became the centre of our historical and geographical attention, throughout the course of this term. From the Minoan and Mycenaean civilisations to the exploits and achievements of Alexander the Great.
Science... can you guess what our learning will involve?
